시맨틱 웹은 2000년대 후반부터 학계와 산업계에서 많은 관심을 받고 있습니다. 2000년대 초반, 관련 표준을 개발하는 시기를 지나 현재는 응용 영역이 더욱 확대되고 있습니다. 국내에서도 많은 프로젝트가 진행되어 왔고 의미 있는 성과가 도출되고 있습니다.
물론 시맨틱 웹 기술이 어렵고 현실적 응용 가능성이 떨어진다는 논란도 여전히 존재합니다. 이번 튜토리얼은 시맨틱 웹의 핵심 요소기술인 RDF의 기본 개념에서 활용까지 실제 프로젝트에 참여했던 전문가들이 발표를 진행합니다. 단순히 관련 기술을 소개하는 것을 넘어 전문가들의 생생한 경험을 공유할 예정입니다. 시맨틱 웹 기술에 관심있는 분이라면 시맨틱 웹 기술의 현실적 응용 가능성을 찾아볼 수 있는 기회가 될 것입니다.

How will the summer program run?
The Summer program will include presentations by well-known Web Science researchers, working sessions and hands-on student activities. Student groups will do projects (case studies and/or demos) relating to both the technical and social aspects of the World Wide Web. A poster session for attending students will also be arranged.

지난 6월 16일 삼성경제연구소에서 국내의 사회학, 인문학, 공학, 법학계의 전문가들이 모여 소셜 웹에 대한 공통 관심사를 논의하는 모임이 있었습니다. 가칭 소셜 웹 연구회는 다음과 같은 목적을 갖고 있습니다.
